I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to post this video. You prevented another TV ending it's life in land full. I fixed my TV in about 5 mins. I didn't realise how easy fixes can be.

Perhaps you can answer an age old question? I used to know somebody that had the same Panasonic TV. He used to insist that it had 4 guns RGB + Yellow, the logo showing 4 colours and name Quintrix seems to perpetuate the idea. I assume that the set does NOT have 4 guns, so what was the 'Quintrix' all about?

Hi mate been trying to get MTK952 TX & MRK980 RX on Wisy manager. All on same subnet as pc and I can ping them but they weren't showing up automatically. Turning off the master firewall settings on the pc solves it but not ideal for long term. Can you advise how I enable them through the firewall while keeping the master on to protect the pc. Cheers

what a weird voltage requirement, considering as you've said that radio equipment runs at lead acid battery voltages. I saw the "mistake", God I hate doing that myself, and butchering the connector all up. I think a small 3d model on the manuals would clear up this confusion for good.

Great video. It’s always worth smearing some EHT silicon grease inside the cap only a light coating to stop tracking in the future.

Philip's dry joints go back to their PCB transistor radios in the 60s not to sure why their production process was flawed in this way.

Lovely little set. I remember the dry joints well. My old boss would tell me off for going around the boards with my soldering iron. If the joints were done well, you rarely saw the set back. Maybe that's why he was so gruff, lol. We also always had a stock of NICADs for them. I do remember a few flat tubes on these in the 90's. BTW I love the little vigniette at the end...... It's nice to see a little bit of fun :) Carry on the good work :)

6:22 6:23 That's a 14" 37cm tube set not a 16" which would be 42cm as denoted by the model details also the 16" had hand holds in the sides of the cabinet . Looks in nice condition just like I remember unboxing them when new in the 80s. CTX e = European CTXs =Singapore I think

So, did that come out after the 16" portable that used the KT3 chassis? The styling looks older than the KT3, but I bought my first KT3 in about 1981 - brand spanking new from Valance's...... Do you remember them? I should still have a couple of KT3s kicking about somewhere - one of granddad's favourites, and I'm pretty sure I've had more than one or two of these ones pass through my hands, trying to earn a shilling or two to ease my passage through university.
